Funeral services for Mrs. Ava Lucille Lowrie, 81 of Prairie Hill will be 1 p.m. Monday November 28, 2005 in Prairie Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Fred Sain will officiate with Interment to follow in Prairie Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Lowrie was born on February 5, 1924 in Marathon, Brewster County, Texas to Alfred Ben Anderson and Mary Elena Jackson Anderson. She lived in Prairie Hill for Several years in the early 1950s and then returned after she retired in early 1980s. She Was a civil service employee, serving as librarian at Altus Air Force Base and Long Beach Naval Base. She graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Library Science And English. She was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denmore Lowrie in November 2003. She is survived by a daughter and son in law: Gerry Ann and Aubrey Crouch of San Antonio: son and daughter in law: David Austin and Peggy Lowrie of Bluffdale, Texas; Grandchildren: Catherine Miller and husband, Mark; Alan Lowrie and wife, Brianne, and Lara Lowrie; great granddaughters: Catherine Grace Miller and Madison Christian Miller; sister: Margaret Honeycutt and husband, Truitt, of Sierra Blanca, Tx. The family wishes to express special thanks to Mary Ann Hargrove, Gilda Conner, and Bruce and Linda Jordan.
