Barbara Ann Anderson

Barbara Ann Lide Anderson was born in Mexia Tx on January 18, 1954 to Jewel and Edward Lide. On June 4, 2025, our Lord called her Home, and Heaven gained one of the most beautiful souls to have walked this Earth. She graduated from Mexia High School in 1972 and went to Navarro Jr. College in Corsicana Tx where she earned her associate’s degree as a Medical Technologist. Barbara married her love of a lifetime “Bob” Bailey Robert Anderson IV on January 5, 1974, and honored that love faithfully for fifty-one years of marriage unto her last breath.

Barbara served her community as a Medical Technologist at Fairfield Hospital for over forty years before retiring. She gave tirelessly to her career while raising two daughters, Mysti and Jennifer. She never missed a dance recital, game, or event for her girls, and made of herself a shining example of motherhood and faith. She selflessly gave to those around her, and her kind thoughtfulness was her hallmark. She sang in the choir and played the hand bells at Fairfield United Methodist Church until her health prevented her from doing so. She was the total package- beautiful on the inside and out, humble, talented in anything she put her mind to, a touch stubborn, intelligent, kind and compassionate.

Barbara is preceded in death by her loving parents Jewel and Edward, and her beloved sister Cindy Lide. She is survived by her loving husband Bob Anderson, her daughters Mysti Anderson and Jennifer Ray, her son-in-law Stephen Ray, her five grandchildren Dustin, Riley, Bailey, Elyssa and Truett, and three great-grandchildren Alaina, Pepper, and Hunter. She is also survived by a network of cousins and life-long friends who will miss her dearly.

Barbara battled chronic illnesses for many years while always keeping her heart and her focus on her family. Her quiet strength and resilience are inspirational. She fought long and hard to stay here as long as she could; not for herself, but for the family to whom she was a guiding light. We draw comfort that she is with her best friend and sister in Heaven watching over us, cheering us on with her unfailing faith and support always. Her absence is keenly felt but her memory will be cherished and celebrated forever. So, to our dear Barbara- wife, mother, sister, dear one- rest in peace. The gift of your love, faith, devotion, wisdom, and kindness will never be forgotten.
