Barbara Helen Reynolds

Barbara Helen Reynolds, 77, of Houston, Tx peacefully passed away on January 23rd, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Barbara was born on November 19, 1946, to Vera and Eddie Gillard in the city of Houston. Barbara graduated from Reagan High School in 1965 in the Heights neighborhood and then lived most of her adult life in Spring Branch on the west side of Houston.

They raised three children, Kris Janik, Nikki Debataz, and Michael Reynolds. She was blessed with five grandchildren who were the center of her world, Casey Tipton, Bailey Ruiz, Courtney Janik, Brett Janik, and Isabel Tipton.

Barbara was a devout Christian, and her faith in the Lord defined how she lived her entire life. She was a devoted, doting wife, deeply loving mother and caring sibling, as her family was always her greatest priority. Through her Christian faith she lived a life of service to others and in that service was a close friend to many people, an active member of her church and a caring supportive neighbor to the people in need from her community.

Barbara had a professional career spanning over 40 years working during those times for the companies of Tenneco, 17 years at Chevron and as a Marketing Director for Markbourough Development. Barbara had a love for travel, visiting places in the world such as Italy, Greece, Tahiti, and Great Britian. She enjoyed and was an avid snow skier, as well as a highly accomplished tennis player.  Barbara found lifelong friends through the community pool and tennis courts at the Shadow Oaks Recreation Association in her time in Spring Branch.

Barbara retired in March of 2015 and since then enjoyed tending to her garden and making quilts for her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Eddie and Vera Gillard and her older brother Edward Gillard Jr. She is survived by her husband David Reynolds, sister Linda Boessling, and her three children, daughter Kris Janik and her husband Tracy, daughter Nikki Debataz and her husband Chris, and son Michael Reynolds and his fiancée Samantha Rollins will serve as pallbearer.
