Betty Lucille Huffman

In Loving Memory of Betty L. Hickson Huffman

Betty Lucille Hickson Huffman, of Perrin, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 17, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Claudie D. Hickson and Thelma Louise Anderson Hickson. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She embraced others with open arms, radiating kindness, warmth, and unwavering love that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

A strong and dedicated woman, Betty took immense pride in raising not only her own children but also any child in her presence. She served as a Girl Scout troop leader and neighborhood chairman, always fostering a sense of community and care. Known for her generosity, resilience, and deep love for family and friends, Betty found joy in traveling, collecting turtles, playing board games, and dancing. An avid card player, she never hesitated to dominate a game of Rummy—often at the expense of her great-grandchildren, who knew the outcome before the game even began! Before retiring, Betty worked as a warehouse manager for Halliburton and Baroid for many years.

Betty’s legacy of love and devotion lives on through her family, including her children, Claudie Dwayne Muensterman and Michelle Henderson and her husband, Todd Henderson; her brothers, Tom Hearrell and Jimmy Hickson; her sister, Sandra Garland, and her husband, Kenneth Garland; her grandchildren, Heather Giattini and husband Matt, Hillary Levosky and husband D.J., C.D. Muensterman, Kelli Muensterman, and Haskel Oliver; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Maddox, Brooks, Sutton, Tryston, Skyler, Dawson, and Kolt—who affectionately called her GG and were her greatest joy. She is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends, including Ann Staggs, and her loyal companion, her dog Buddy Lou.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Claudie D. Hickson and Thelma Louise Anderson Hickson, as well as her lifelong best friend, travel buddy, and partner in mischief, Rose Henry.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 9th, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, Texas. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her legacy. She will be laid to rest alongside her family. Though Betty’s presence will be deeply missed, her love and light will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

Matt Giattini, DJ Levosky, Clint Coogler, Tracy Henderson, Thomas Henderson, and Bradly Henderson will serve as pallbearers.
