Bobby Duke

Funeral services for Bobby Duke will be held Monday November 14th, 2 P.M. at Temple Baptist Church in Mexia Texas. 

Bro. Michael Vestal will officiate. Interment will follow at Tehuacana Cemetery. Tommy Oakes, Matt Silar, Brett Duke, Wes Silar, Korey Silar, and Cooper Vandiver will serve as pallbearers.

Bobby passed away at Mexia Long Term Care in Mexia Texas on November 12th, 2022 at 9:05 P.M.

Bobby was born to A.V. and Hollis Duke September 6th, 1933. He grew up in the Tehuacana area and enjoyed his family and friends. Bobby was a football standout for the Mexia Blackcats and enjoyed several successful seasons.

Bobby married Barbara McLain on December 26th, 1954 in Dawson Texas. Bobby and Barbra started their life in New York while Bobby served in the U.S. Army.

They returned home and were local business owners for 25+ years.

Bobby retired and enjoyed church, family, and ranch life.

He is survived by:

• Daughter- Melodye Oakes
• Son- Mark Duke and wife Teresa

• Leslie Croft
• Brett Duke and wife Krystal

• Mason Duke
• Acey Vandiver

        Brother- Billy Duke

Bobby was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Craig Oakes.

Bobby was a faithful member and deacon of Temple Baptist Church.
