Carl Thompson

Carl William Thompson, 87, passed away October 5, 2011 in Donie, Texas. Carl was born December 11, 1923 in Donie, Texas to Finis D. and Esterlene Blackmon Thompson. He married Charlotte Bailey Anthis in Houston, Texas in July 1964. Carl served in the U. S. Army from December 18, 1943 until May 5, 1946. He worked for Borden Milk Company in Houston, Texas for 41 years before returning home to Donie in December 2009. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte; sister, Glynss Thompson Sherman; niece, Debra Sherman; nephew, Charles Sherman; and daughter, Elaine Sanford. He is survived by a son, Carl Wayne Thompson; daughter-in-law, Janice Thompson; daughter, Carol Ash; granddaughters, Lisa Thompson Moore, Lindsey Ash and Lauren Ash; grandson, Jason Ash; great-granddaughter, Delaney Thompson Moore; sister, Faye Nell Higgins; and brother-in-law, Jack Higgins. Funeral services will be 2PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia, Texas with Rev. Michael Vestal officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Freestone, Texas. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clay Thompson, Don Turner, Wayland Oakes, Buster Ash, Logan Arnold and Tom Thompson.
