Carroll Buck Fuller, of Lake Limestone, was called to Heaven on May 8, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born August 30, 1948, in Danville, VA to Eunice and Howard Fuller.
Out of high school, he completed a four-year apprenticeship with the Newport News Shipbuilding where he enjoyed his time as student body president and cheerleader sponsor. After moving to Texas, he completed his business degree at Wayland Baptist University. His career was spent as an accountant with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and after 39 years he retired as Director of Compliance. In retirement, he continued to do auditing, legal consulting and found his new passion in ranching and traveling.
Buck’s highest devotion was to the love of his life, Yvonne, and to his family. They were married on April Fool’s Day in 1972 at the Halfway Baptist Church, and 52 years later remained an inseparable couple. Buck loved his family above all things on this earth. Not only did he serve as the spiritual leader, but he always gave credit to God for His many blessings.
His faith was an important guiding light to him. Buck loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church in Thornton where he served on various committees. In addition, he always looked forward to serving at the Fishes and Loaves food bank in Groesbeck, where he was lovingly known as “the peanut butter man.”
To know Buck was to love him. His sense of humor was infectious and captivating. He made everyone feel loved and special. Buck never met a stranger and made a new friend everywhere he went. He will be remembered for his compassion and the many ways he cared for the needs of his friends and family.
He enjoyed playing cards and board games with a special ability to win. He also loved water activities, boat rides, and showing off his famous backward trick skiing skills.
Buck will be loved and missed by so many, but he is now praising Jesus and rejoicing in Heaven with those who went before him.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eunice and Howard Fuller; Yvonne’s parents, Clyde and Wilma Emberton; and brother-in-law, Bill Wheeler.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Yvonne Fuller; sons, Neal and Justin Fuller; granddaughter Camille Fuller; sisters Judye Schneider of Colorado and Jo Childress of North Carolina and husband Jack; Sister-in-law, Connie Wheeler; Nieces Jolene Alley and husband, Jeff; Julie Childress; Aubre Castillo and husband, Victor; Emily Schneider-Bruch and wife, Mandie; Whitney Collins and husband, John. Nephews Derek Schneider and wife, Denise; Clayton Wheeler and wife, Kay. He also left behind many great nieces and nephews who love him and say “Uncle Buck is …. GREAT.”
