Catherine Luper Hardin

Catherine (Luper) Hardin passed away in Teague, Texas on October 8, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Houston, Texas to Loyd Luper and Annie (Bulin) Luper on June 15, 1943. She and her husband Jimmie Hardin were married 38 years and had two sons, Phillip Hardin and Loyd Hardin. She worked in several convenience stores (Jiffy Mart and Charlie’s) and made many friends along the way. She had a huge heart and was a mother to many others in the community. She set the example of what a hard worker and a good work ethic meant. Catherine helped her husband with his lawn service business in addition to her own job.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Phillip; siblings, Avis Rainey, Norma D. Cook, Loyd “Buddy” Luper, Floyd Luper, Ila Mae Edwards and Lydell Buxton.

Her loved ones left to cherish her memory are her son Loyd Hardin, sister Bertha McBride as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service is planned for Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery, Teague, Texas with John Stubbs officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, Texas.
