Charlotte Ann Savage Lee passed away on April 12, 2025 in Mexia, Texas at the age of 89. She was born February 16, 1936 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Raymond H. and Maudie Noami (Simpson) Savage. Prior to retirement, she was a School Bus Driver in Massachusetts.
Charlotte was a loving and proud mother of five, grandmother of nine, and great grandmother of six. She enjoyed her time with family; however, she didn’t see them as often as she would have liked since most of them lived in different states.
Charlotte lived in six different states while growing up. Since her dad was a saboteur hunter, she had the opportunity to visit a WWII POW camp and talk to the prisoners, which was one of her most special memories as a child. During her 89 years of life, she had many interesting stories to share with her family.
Charlotte loved history, especially Indian history. She also enjoyed crocheting, making porcelain dolls, drawing, books, and puzzles.
Most importantly, “Mom wanted everyone to know that she loved each person more than they ever knew”!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Maudie Savage; and brother, LaRoye Savage.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Janet Whittenburg-Batchelor of TX, Mike Whittenburg of MA, David Lee of CA, Robert Lee of OK, Karen Lee-Vargas of CA and two loved-like sons, Matt Sobelman of CA and Michael Shields of TX; nine grandchildren; six grandchildren; and including wives, husbands, and families.
A Memorial service will be held at Fort Parker Memorial Park on May 24, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
