Cody Allen Montgomery passed away on May 15, 2017 in Mexia, Texas, at the age of 29. Memorial services for Cody will be 2 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 1 PM, at First Baptist Church. Cody was born December 2, 1987 in Corsicana, Texas to Brian K. Montgomery and Susan M. Williams Montgomery. He has been a resident of Mexia for 20 years and graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 2006. After high school, he enrolled in the oil field classes at Navarro College. Cody was known for his fun-loving spirit. He had an inquisitive mind and loved history and nature. You could often find Cody picking on a guitar, fishing or hanging out with friends, making them laugh. Cody was preceded in death by his father, Brian Kelly Montgomery. Cody is survived by his loving mother, Susan Montgomery of Mexia; brother, Jace Montgomery and wife, Reta Robocker and their daughter, Austyn Montgomery of Bremerton, WA; sister, Presley Montgomery and fiancée, Erik Vielmas; brother Dylan Montgomery and Bre Harrison of Fairfield; grandparents, Harvey and Jane Williams of Mexia, Leon and Pat Montgomery of Houston and Wanda Montgomery of Broken Arrow, OK; aunt Stephanie Contu and husband, Shane of Heartland, TX. Cody was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
