Cynthia Diane Smith

Cynthia Diane Slater, 67, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2026, following a tragic automobile accident. Born on June 11, 1959, in Houston, Diane lived a life marked by remarkable resilience, deep faith, and a love of dancing, playing dominoes and having a good time.

Diane was also a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed attending First Baptist Church and found comfort, community, and purpose in her relationship with God.

Above all, Diane loved her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Nachole Waterman, and Kristy’s husband, Matt, and their sons, David and Henry; her son, Brandin Lane Smith, and his wife, Shawna, and their children, Paytin and her husband, Logan, Colton and Kenzie; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Love, and Patricia’s husband, Dennis, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Royce and Velma Slater, and her brother, Royce Slater Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Marcus Sheffield officiating.
