Dale Alfred Fargo passed away March 12, 2024 in Mexia, Texas at the age of 89. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Chaplain Nathan Dunman officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Rory Sterling, Michael Sterling, Jimmy Sterling, Wayne Sterling, Brian Solley, and Lane Solley will serve as pallbearers.
Dale was born July 21, 1934 in Manistee County, Michigan to George and Cirmet (Wagner) Fargo. He grew up in Michigan and later lived in Missouri and Arizona before settling in Texas. After moving to Texas, he met and married Clarice B. Pevehouse Sterling on October 7, 1990 in Mexia, they were blessed with over wonderful 33 years together.
Dale was a hard worker. After retiring from the railroad system, he went back to work for Teague ISD for an additional 10 years before officially retiring.
Dale didn’t have many hobbies, however, when he had some spare time, he could be found doing what he thoroughly enjoyed, working in his shop. He was quite different in his younger days. He enjoyed a much faster pace, racing cars was his favorite pastime.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cirmet Fargo; children, Richard and Ann Fargo; and a great grandson.
Dale is survived by his wife, Clarice Fargo; children, Suse Fargo, Jim Fargo, Wells Fargo, Vickee Fargo, David Sterling of Mexia, and Glenda Sterling Waller and husband, David of Kingston, OK; two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
