Funeral services for Dan A. Capehart, 80 of Mexia will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006 in First United Methodist Church in Mexia with interment following in Mexia Cemetery. Rev. Brad Brittain, pastor, will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 7 - 9 p.m. Friday night at Blair - Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Mr. Capehart was born August 15, 1925 in Datura, Texas to Guy and Beulah (Hancock) Capehart and passed away on August 8, 2006 in a Waco hospital. He was a carpenter, served in the U. S. Army in World War II ( received the Purple Heart) and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Dorothy A. Capehart in 2002. He is survived by his children: Deborah Mauer of Kingwood, Ron Capehart of Alvin, Don Capehart of The Woodlands, Dana Ramsey of Tomball and Pam Chaffin of Alvin; 14 grandchildren: Warren Cox, Shannon Cox, Amie Clendenen, Chase, Chad and Cody Capehart, Stephen Durr, Christopher Capehart, Jamie Henke, Greg Ramsey, Joseph Ramsey, Lauren Chaffin, Brian Chaffin and Melissa Chaffin, 16 great grandchildren: sister, Shirley Skopik of Waco and brother, Howard Capehart of Dallas. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Chase, Chad and Cody Capehart, Brian Chaffin, Greg Ramsey, Warren Cox, Shannon Cox, Stephen Durr, Christopher Capehart and Joseph Ramsey..
