Danny Kennedy

Danny Ray Kennedy, 60, of Grapevine, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 26, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born in Pasadena, Texas to Derwood and Emma Louise Kennedy on November 17, 1958. Danny graduated from Angleton High School in 1976. He worked most of his life for his brother, Tom Kennedy, at his Curtis Mathes retail stores and, also, Stardust Video. Danny made his home in Grapevine, Texas and spent most of his time with his family and friends - just enjoying life and making everyone laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. He enjoyed doing yard work, races at Texas Motor Speedway, football and any activity where he could be around people and enjoy their friendship. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and wonderful friends, of whom he had many.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Louise Kennedy; and uncles, Joe Dale Kennedy and Thomas Matthews. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Derwood and Bee Kennedy of Tomball; brother, Tom Kennedy and wife, Audra of Grapevine; sister, Debbie Kennedy Wills of Burleson; niece, April Day and her two sons, Garrett Day and Grayson Fuselier of Burleson; two nephews, Travis Willis of Little Elm and John Wills of Burleson; step-sister, Jai Leigh Addison and husband, Al of Austin; step-brother, Chip Gosnell and wife, Trina of Bastrop; uncle, Al Matthews of Carrollton; and aunt Helen Matthews of Mexia. Danny has numerous cousins and, also a very special friend of the family, Mary Fertitta of Euless, TX.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia, Texas with Rev. Shane Norcross officiating. Burial will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.
