Dorothy was born January 12, 1946 in Keechi, Texas to George and Dorothy (Mullenax) Murphy.  She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for many years, prior to retirement.  This occupation was so suited for Dorothy as she was such a loving, caring person who was willing, and enjoyed, helping others regardless of their needs.

Dorothy’s life revolved around her family, she was proud of her three children, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She loved all her family and enjoyed spending time with them, but nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she cherished them dearly.  She also loved her pets.  Her hobbies consisted of shopping with her best friend, Madell, and playing games.

Dorothy was also a hard worker and no matter what happened in life, she maintained a positive attitude.  Dorothy loved the Lord and was strong in her faith.  She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church in Marquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Murphy; daughter, Joyce “Sissy” Noey; son-in-law, Gary Conn; sisters, Faye Copeland, Selma Jo Tullous and Beth Green; and brother, Alvin Murphy.
