Dorothy McKee Roberts

Dorothy McKee Roberts entered her heavenly home on February 25, 2023 at the age of 95.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Wright officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lost Prairie Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Webb, Sonny Bowden, and Rev. Bobby Baldree.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born April 24, 1927 in Streetman, Texas to James Holland and Sallie Mae (Blakley) Killingsworth.  She retired from the Mexia State School after 20 years of service in the Recreation Department.

Dorothy devoted her life to loving the Lord, family, and friends.  She was not only a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she dearly loved her siblings.  Dorothy and her sisters spent endless hours talking to each other on the phone.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending as much time as possible with her son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, especially on holidays.  Dorothy attended church faithfully until her health began failing; she was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Dorothy was a very good cook, her specialty was chocolate pies, and according to her family they were the best.  She like doing crafts, crocheting, needlepoint, and making blankets for family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Nathan Bedford McKee and Ernest Roberts; son, Larry Don McKee; siblings, Allie Just, Dennis Killingsworth, Lorene Just, Lennie Sandifer, and Retha; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is survived by her grandsons, Larry Don McKee, Jr. and Nathan Charles McKee; great grandchildren, Samantha Taga, Lucas McKee, Brett McKee, and Melody Tosh; stepson, Glenn Roberts; nieces, Ruth McKethan, Louise Jones, Laquitta Jones, Sabre Jones, and Anita Patterson.
