Edward "Sonny" Jay Bowden

Edward "Sonny" Jay Bowden, of Mexia, passed away on February 6, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 83.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026 in the First Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Blackmon and Dr. Rodney Bowden officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Mexia Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward "E.J."  and Vera Bowden; and brother, Rayford Bowden.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Judy Bowden; sons, Brett A. Bowden and Benjamin J. Bowden; several grandchildren and other family members.
