Funeral services for Edwin Barker, 85 of Teague will be held on May 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. in Blair Stubbs Chapel in Teague. Rev. Darrel Beggs and Rev. Lance Barker will officiate with interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Mr. Barker was born November 1, 1920 in Mexia, Texas and passed away on May 11, 2006 in Waco, Texas. He lived all of his life in Teague, worked for 24 years as letter carrier for US Postal Service, served 1940 - 1945 in U. S. Marines during World War II, and was a deacon of First Baptist Church in Teague. On December 21, 1942 he was married to Florence Alsdorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin (Thel) and Bertha Miles Barker. Survivors are his wife, Florence Barker of Teague; two sons and daughters in law: Lin and Cheryl Barker of Teague, Mickey and Carolyn Barker of Teague, four grandchildren: Paul Barker, Leann Inderman, Alissa Barlow and Lance Barker, six great grandchildren: Coltin Barlow, Jayden Barlow, Wyatt Inderman, Cooper Inderman, Ashlyn Inderman and Tommy Barker. Pallbearers will be Lance Barker, Paul Barker, Lance Inderman and Jason Barlow.
