Elizabeth Ann "Cissy" Nichols, of Mexia, passed away, suddenly, July 13, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 58. Funeral services will be 10 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Roy Prather officiating. Interment will follow in the Shanks Cemetery. David Paxton, Bennie Paxton, Tony Dostine, Thomas Kokenos, Kevin Jones and Randy Lockhart will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be 9-10 AM, Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Cissy was born December 16, 1958 in Pasadena, Texas to Aldrice and Ruby Owens Smith. She retired from the Mexia State School after 25 years of service as an LVN. Cissy had many friends and was known for her nurturing and sweet demeanor; she always put others before herself. She cherished her family and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them. She shared a special bond with each of her children. Cissy was happiest when she was doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren or taking them to the park; they were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldrice and Ruby Smith; and sister, Elaine Hunter. Cissy is survived by her husband, Curtis Nichols; four children, Johnny Johnson, Michelle Kokenos, Bennie Paxton and David Paxton; eight grandchildren, J.C., Jacob and Baily Johnson, Aiyanna Paxton, Kristen and Kendyl Kokenos, Ethan and K.C. Paxton; brother, Mike Smith; sister, Glenda Foreman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
