Emilie Ann Ray, of Tehuacana, passed away March 18, 2018 in Mexia at the age of 81. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jen Pick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Bryan Trantham, Bradley Trantham, Russ Trantham, Josh Williamson, Kellan Mathis and Levi Gold will serve as pallbearers. Emilie was born January 16, 1937 in Mexia, Texas to Russell White Trantham, Sr. and Edna Zora Danner Trantham. She grew up in Mexia and graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1955. She married Robert Edison "Bob" Ray on August 25, 1962. Emilie was very outgoing and had no problem visiting with any and everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, playing 42, knitting, crocheting and was an avid bridge player. For many years, she traditionally made Christmas stockings for her nieces and nephews. Everyone that knew her, knew that she loved her 1962 Corvair, it was like a part of her family and she had just recently had it restored. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 48 years, Bob Ray; two step-daughters; and three brothers. Emilie is survived by a step-daughter, Joan K. Williams of Fort Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children.
