Eva Jo Lanier

Eva Jo Lanier, of Seale-Round Praire, passed away at the age of 94 on October 9, 2026 in The Woodlands, TX.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., October 11, 2026 at Lake Limestone Baptist Church with David Coker and Marshal Johnston officiating. Visitation with the family will be an hour before the service. Interment will follow in the Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery. Brad Lanier, Weston McKellar, Greg McKellar, Larry Smith, Bill Jackson,  Ryan O'Neal, Jerod O’Neal and Todd Neyland will serve as pallbearers.

Eva Jo was born on January 27, 1932 in Seale, TX to J.W. Jackson and Inez Coker Jackson. Eva Jo married her loving husband of 69 years, Bobby Lanier, on August 11, 1948 and they were blessed with two sons, Bob, Jr. and Jody. They built a life centered around their family, their faith and serving the Lord.
After retirement, Eva Jo and Bobby moved back to the country, where they enjoyed a quieter way of life. For Eva Jo, however, retirement certainly did not mean slowing down. Her and Bobby were one of the founding members of Lake Limestone Baptist Church, where she remained devoted and active, faithfully serving as a ladies’ Sunday School teacher.
The church and the people in it held a very special place in her heart. She could often be found planning and coordinating events, organizing game nights and creating opportunities for church members to gather in fellowship. She had a special gift for bringing people together and making sure everyone felt welcome and included.
Above all, Eva Jo loved her family and loved the Lord. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy. She treasured the time she spent with them and the memories they made together throughout the years.

Eva Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gray Lanier, her son, Jody Lanier, parents, Inez and J.W. Jackson, bother and sister in law, James and Joyce Jackson and niece Carol Jeanne Jackson

She is survived by her son, Bobby Lanier, Jr. and wife, Diane, grandchildren, Brad Lanier and Fiancé, Kim Provost, Stacy McKellar and husband, Greg, great grandchildren, Lexie, Weston and Landry McKellar, nephew, Bill Jackson, along with many treasured family and friends.
