Graveside services for Shug Copeland Walker, 77 will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 30 in Mexia Cemetery. Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate with interment following in Mexia Cemetery. Mrs. Walker was born May 22, 1928 in Colorado City, Texas to William Leonard and Pearl Hansen Neff. She was a graduate of Draughns Business College in Lubbock. She was a longtime resident of Mexia, worked and retired from First Mexia Bank. She was an active community leader when she resided in Mexia and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker passed away on September 28, 2005 in Midland. . Visitation with family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday night at funeral home. Survivors are her daughter and son in law: Candyce and Ron Wylie of Midland; Three granddaughters and two grandsons in law:Holly Wylie of Lubbock, Doree and Chris Gorden of Midland; Doanna and Oscar Montano of Ennis; Five great Grandchildren: Drew, Tanner, Makayla, Andrea and Laynie; four brothers: Rush Neff of Colorado City, Jack Neff of Midland, Tom Neff of Andrews and Joe Neff of Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers in law; a daughter, a son, and a husband, Garland Copeland, a long time resident of Mexia. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Gorden, Oscar Montano, Ron Wylie, Mickey Neff, Tom Neff and Rush Neff.
