Floyce Warren

On December 9, 1931, a baby daughter was born to Mose S. Reynolds and Alma Callies Reynolds in Springfield, Texas. She was named Floyce Alma, and she was the third of eight children: Mose Jr., Maudell (Wallace), Aaron, Theresa (Davis), Clarence, Francis (Melton), and LaOlive.Floyce attended Canaan Baptist Church as a youth, and was a student at Kate Long Elementary until the family relocated to Bay City, Texas. Floyce would go on to complete high school and earn her cosmetology license in Kansas City, Kansas. When she returned to Texas, she was employed as a hair stylist when she met and married Mr. Nelie Gordon, Jr. To this union, two children were born - Sherry Darlene Gordon (Baker) and Nelie (Neal) Gordon, III. Floyce continued to own and operate a beauty salon for many years in Mexia, Texas. She joined Lanza Chapel United Methodist Church, where she met and married Mr. Woodie Hue Warren. They both transferred their membership to St. Luke United Methodist Church when Lanza and Jones Chapel merged. Floyce was a high-spirited woman with an infectious laugh, who loved entertaining her family and friends. She sought beauty in everything and everywhere. Her many hobbies included sewing, gardening, cooking/baking, listening to music, and watching movies. Floyce eventually returned to Canaan Baptist Church, and she remained a devout Christian who proclaimed Jesus as her personal Lord and savior to all whom she encountered. Floyce was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her husband. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children - Sherry Baker (Willie Roy Smith - Fiancé) and Neal Gordon III (Cynthia); grandchildren - Jimia L. Baker, Jimmy L. Baker, Jr., Marcus D. Gordon (Juliette), Clayton O. Gordon (Lauren), and Ashley N. Gordon; great-grandchildren - Jaylon J. Baker, Holli Gordon, and Leo Gordon. In addition, Floyce leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved, as well as other relatives and close friends.
