Frances Burke

Frances Burke, of Frosa, passed away May 27, 2017 in Waco, Texas at the age of 91. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Sain officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery with Marty McDaniel, Chester Seelinger, Gary Findley, David Sutherland, Aubrey Strunck, James Pullin, Jerry Ward, Stell Waldrop and Kenneth Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be J. I. Muhl, Bill Haynes, John Jenkins and Lenord Dziedzic. Frances was born August 16, 1925 in Hubbard, Texas to Thomas Payne and Amy Beatrice Vickery Findley. She retired from the Mexia State School Accounting Department, after 30 years of service. Frances was a hard worker. She managed to take care of her children, home, a job and, also, helped her husband on their ranch. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and cooking. Frances was an awesome cook; a few of her specialties were cakes, pies and meatloaf, however, according to her family everything she cooked was delicious. She also loved to share her cooking with family and friends. Spending time with her family was always important, and holidays with her family were extra special. Frances was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord was exemplified in the way she lived her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Burke; two sisters; and two brothers. Frances is survived by her daughter, Charlene Pullin and husband, James of Frosa; son, Kenneth Burke and wife, Susie of Frosa; granddaughters, Naice Steines and husband, Shaun and Carleigh Samford; great-granddaughters, Sumer Elmore and Addison Steines; nieces, Elaine McDaniel, Judy Seelinger, Janet McMillian and Jennifer Flowers; and nephew, Gary Findley. Memorials may be made to the Prairie Hill Baptist Church, Prairie Hill Cemetery or Providence Hospice in Waco.
