G H Lampley, following a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease for over five years, went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, 13-Jun-2026 in Mexia TX. He was born in Houston TX on 21-Sep-1933. GH lived a peaceful life marked with dedication to family, faith, and service.
After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at the University of Texas, he served as an officer in the US Navy with the grade of LTJG and was stationed in Japan. Later, GH returned to Texas and pursued his law degree at University of Texas and then practiced in San Angelo for approximately thirty years. Following his service to the community in San Angelo, GH and Amy retired to Mexia to be with family.
G H is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alma (Amy) Lampley; daughters Patricia Cox and husband Ed Cox; Mexia TX, Becky Banke and husband Chris Banke, Canby Oregon, and Rachelle Beca and husband Vyapi Beca, Mississippi; one son-in-law Durwood Jones, Cibolo TX; two nephews Dan Brett, Hutto TX and Joe Brett, Austin TX; grandchildren Jason Jones, San Angelo TX, Bill Weiser, Mexia TX, Michael Fergus, Sour Lake TX, and Jeanette Banke and Matt Banke, both of Canby Oregon. Also, other nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death; were parents William Harrison Lampley and Margie Fitzhenry; brother Lawrence Lampley and sister Ima Brett; daughter Phyllis Jones, son Mike Wheeler; grandchildren Ronda Fergus and Chris Jones.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Ed Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.
