Geneva Ann McLain Adkisson, 90, passed away on the evening of June 14, 2026. She was born February 26, 1936 in Hart, Texas to Donald Lester and Jometa McClain. She graduated from Hart High School in 1954 and went on to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX where she earned a Bachelors degree in Home Economics in 1958.
She married Milton Dan Adkisson in June of 1958 and lived in Lubbock until 1968 when they moved to Spring, TX and then later to Tomball, TX, where they lived for more than 50 years.
Geneva briefly taught Home Economics at Idalou High School before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who loved gardening, cooking, baking, and sewing. She helped her husband in their auction and realty business for many years. She was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own.
Geneva is survived by her children: daughter Connie Sheffield and husband Kent of Teague, son Steve Adkisson and wife, Michelle of The Woodlands, daughter D’Ann Hunt and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Mason Sheffield, Megan Jones and husband Wesley, and Kayley Adkisson; and one great granddaughter Emrey Kerzee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Cleve McLain of Hart, TX.
Interment will be at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery in Tomball, Texas at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026 with Reverend Marcus Sheffield officiating.
