Glenda Kay Boyd, of Teague, passed away on May 3, 2022 in Waco, Texas at the age of 74. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the Wortham Cemetery.
Glenda was born March 3, 1948 in Abilene, Texas to Willie Glynn Ford and Ovada Jones. She was no stranger to hard work. In addition to working, for many years, as a cosmetologist, she was busy raising her three children, taking care of the household while, also, working hard to help run the cattle business.
Glenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Spending time with her family and friends was what she enjoyed most in life. Her big, loving heart, also, extended to animals as well; she rescued and saved any, and all that she came across that was abandoned.
Glenda’s love for nature and country living was evident. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, and collecting jewelry. She was easy going and always maintained a positive attitude, respected people, and treated everyone like she wanted to be treated.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Glynn Ford; and mother, Ovada Jones.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Robert James Boyd; daughters, Rachell Boyd Pope and husband, Shawn and Amanda Hall Harris; son, Jason Carr; grandchildren, Luke Carr, Ava Carr, Cannon Pope, Mallory Switzer, Chelsea Williams and husband, Kevin, and Cole Ferrell; great grandchildren, Casen Hunt, Masen Hunt, and Rowdy Richards; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Glenda’s family would like memorials to be made to LARA’s House or any animal shelter of choice.
