Glenna Joy Harrison

  • Glenna Joy Harrison beloved mother and precious grandmother took her final earthly breath on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Services will be held at 10am, Friday, September 18, 2026 at the Northcrest Church of Christ, in Mexia and officiating the service will be Blan Chrane. Interment will follow at the Coolidge Cemetery. There will be visitation before the service at 9am.

  • Glenna was born to Roy and Ruby Jewel Hodges on September 29, 1939 in Coolidge, Texas. She was a 1957 Coolidge graduate and then pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Sam Houston University. She began her teaching career and taught at Mexia I.S.D. for 32 years. She was a devoted educator and loved all of her students.

  • Glenna married the love of her life Bert Lynn Harrison Sr. on March 5, 1960 and they were married 59 years. They enjoyed a full life together raising children, loving their grandkids, and traveling after retirement. They had many Schnauzers over the years and loved each one of them. Glenna enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, sewing and football. Glenna was a member of Northcrest Church of Christ and loved her church family. While her family will deeply miss her presence, they take comfort knowing that faith shaped her life.

  • She was preceded in death by her husband Bert Lynn Harrison Sr, parents Roy and Ruby Jewel Hodges, and infant son.

  • Glenna is survived by her daughter, Stacy Harrison of Fort Worth; her sons Bert Lynn Harrison Jr. of Mexia; Jon Harrison and wife Jaime of Mexia; James Harrison and wife Kelly of Mexia. She was blessed with many grandchildren, Rachel King and husband Nick of Fort Worth; Paige Mills and husband Caleb of Fort Worth; Landry Harrison and wife Noemi of Mexia; Karson Harrison of Mexia; Aiden Park of Fort Worth; Evan Harrison and wife Alexis of Mexia; and Gracie Harrison of Mexia. Four great grandchildren Wyatt King and Rhett King of Fort Worth; Hollie Jo and Lucas Harrison of Mexia. She is also survived by a sister Jan Robinson and husband Ken of Green Valley, Az. Glenna was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  • The family would like to give a special thank you to Providence Hospice, Mexia LTC, and Zolita Busby’s ladies for providing excellent care.

  • Serving as pallbearers, Landry Harrison, Evan Harrison, Clay Platt, Brian Hullum, Matt Kuehn and Kaleb Fox.
