Huberta Duke
Huberta Faye Duke passed away December 28, 2018 at her home in Garland, Texas at the age of 81. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2018 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Scott Brazell officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Ronall Duke, Rodney Duke, John Harman, John Russell Robnett, Jim Harman, Dwayne Madray, Matthew Robnett and Austin Duke will serve as pallbearers.
Huberta was born September 8, 1937 in Fallon, Texas to Hubert and Eulah Van Winkle McKinnon. She was a homemaker, who not only took care of her family, but many others. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved to host holiday meals for widows, at times cooking for as many as 100 people. She loved to cook and was a wonderful cook; she rarely ever measured anything.
Huberta enjoyed playing card games, dominoes and most any kind of games, especially, with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she would play for hours. Her family was the center of her life; her pride and joy. She also loved to travel.
Huberta was a member of the Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Emily Barganier; and half-brother, Colbert McKinnon.
Huberta is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ronny F. Duke; children, daughter, Debrah Harman and husband, Jim of Dallas, their daughter, Jenni and husband, Curtis and children, William, Daniel and Andrew of Odenton, MD, son, John of Dallas and daughter, Amy of Charleston, SC; daughter, Dinah Robnett and husband, Edward of Tulsa, OK, their son, Nathan and wife, Nicki and children, Ace and Oakley of Grand Cayman Islands, daughter, Rebecca of Tulsa, OK, son, Matthew of Tulsa, OK and son, John Russell and wife, Summer of Ft. Worth; son, David Duke and wife, Tinker and family of Mexia; son, Rodney Duke and wife, Angelle of Spring their son, Austin and daughters, Lauren and Ashley of Spring; son, Ronall Duke of Garland and his daughter, Madison and son, Joshua; sister, Flora Shillingburg and husband, Jim of Burnet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
