J C Huffman, 86, of Mexia, passed away November 15, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas with Pastor Richard Mooney officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. J C was born December 24, 1928 in Humble, Texas to James Edison and Eugene Dry Huffman. He retired from Harris County Road Maintenance Department after 30 years of service. He also served his country during WWII in the US Navy. J C had an outgoing personality and enjoyed visiting with people. He didn't like to stay at home by himself so he frequented the local stores to be among people, especially HEB, Wal-Mart and Brookshire's, before they closed. He was truly "A Man About Town"! J C also enjoyed watching the Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and the Baylor Bears. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed good meals. His favorite quote was "Whatever state you find yourself in, there with be content". J C will be truly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Wilburn Huffman; brothers, Troy and Belton Huffman; and sisters, Dovie Tuttle and Bonnie Gears. J C is survived by his daughter, Elisa Draper and husband, Gary of Richland Springs, TX; son, Scott Huffman of Nashville, TN; grandson, Joshua Draper and wife, Katrina; great-grandsons, Sebastian, Ashton, Christian and Tobias Draper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
