John Rasco

John Foy Rasco, 92, of Dew, passed away March 25, 2018 in Waco, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be 11 AM, Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Dew Cemetery with Bro. Gary Tigue officiating. John was born January 28, 1926 in Ennis, Texas to Oscar Rufus and Mary Cecil Seale Rasco. He was raised in Thornton and graduated from Thornton High School, Class of 1942. After graduation, he entered the US Army Air Corps and proudly served his country during WWII from 1942-1945. John, then, continued his education at Southern Methodist University, graduating in 1949 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. John married his loving wife, Peggy Wylie, in 1954; they were blessed with 53 years together prior to her death in 2007. They lived many years in the Dallas area until they decided to retire and move to the country. He loved living in the country where he had access to fishing, hunting, gardening and bird watching; these activities proved to be special times shared with his family as well. Spending time with family was very important to him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He also enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Rasco; sisters, Elva Mae Goodnight, Lois Courtney, Nell Erskine; and brothers Acuff Rasco and Lee Fountain Rasco. John is survived by his loving children, Donald Gregory Rasco of Dew and Traci Lyn Tigue and husband, Shannon of Euless; grandchildren, Kyle Anthony Lynch and fiancé, Stephanie Powers of Cedar Hill and Brody Ellis Tigue of Euless; great grandchildren, Alexis Lynch and James Powers; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Dew Volunteer Fire Department.
