Johnnie O. Christian, 79, of Mexia, passed away December 16, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with Danny Niedecken officiating. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Johnnie was born November 4, 1934 in Cleveland, Texas to John Robert and Lula Bently O'Conner. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mexia. She was also a member of the Mexia Garden Club, Woman's Friday Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and Parkview Hospital Auxiliary. She had a very outgoing personality, always cheerful and friendly. Johnnie is survived by her husband, Kenneth Christian; step-children, Kenneth Christian, Jr. and wife, Dena, John Christian and wife, Charlotte, Steve Christian and wife, Belinda, Cheryl Ann Wolfe and her husband and Tammie Lynn Mathy and husband, Bob; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; former step-daughter, Lanell Palermo and husband, Sam; niece, Helen Smith and husband, Robert; nephews, David Jackson and wife, Cheryl and Bobby Conner and wife, Bobbie; and a number of cousins.
