Jose Antonio Najera-Olivas, 63, of Mexia, passed away April 1, 2015 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 12:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Jose was born June 4, 1951 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Eusebio Najeras and Rosano Olivas. He retired from J. C. Penney Company after 16 years of service. For the past five years, he had been working for the Mexia Wal-Mart store. On November 16, 1998, Jose married Maria T. Villatoro in Groesbeck, Texas. He loved his Lord, family and church family; spent many hours reading his favorite book, the Bible. He was a member of the Jehovah Witness Spanish Congregation in Mexia. As a young man growing up in Mexico, he loved to play baseball; he was a pitcher. He also enjoyed teaching children how to play baseball. Jose loved things from the old days, especially, old western movies and classical music. A unique remembrance of Jose was that he preferred to carry a pocket watch. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Maria Alta Garcia Lopez and Alicia Najera. Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Najera; children, Ruth Lopez, Abigail Escobar, Judith Brito, Jose Maria Villatoro and Juanita Villatoro; grandchildren, Rebecca Lizbeth Najera, Guadalupe Lopez, Arturo Lopez, Teresa Najera, Maxximus Escobar, Loremi Brito, Emily Brito, Tyson Alexander Villatoro, Landon day Villatoro, Addison Kate Villatoro, Nathan Cole Villatoro; and sister, Antonio Cruz. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
