Joyce Elaine Slaughter

Joyce Elaine Slaughter passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, in Bryan, Texas, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor Robert Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Robert Slaughter, Jr., Kevin Slaughter, Brian Slaughter, Glen Foster, Steven Foster, William Butterworth, and Justin Butterworth will serve as pallbearers.

Joyce was born in Houston, Texas on December 15, 1951 to William Floyd and Pauline (Kwasnica) Slaughter. She worked for Shell, Quaker State, and Pennzoil for many years. She was the sales representative for the Northwest United States and overseas, which required international travel.

Joyce loved spending time with family and friends including her faithful companions, her dogs. She enjoyed spending time at her home on Lake Limestone, cooking, and Karaoke night in Groesbeck. Joyce was also a devout Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Pauline Slaughter; and sister, Jayne Smith.

Joyce is survived by her brothers, Robert Slaughter and wife, Mary Ann of Waco and William Slaughter and wife, Brenda of Bryan; several nieces and nephews; and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 1411 Memorial Drive Ste. A, Bryan, Texas 77802.
