Laura Taylor

September 1, 1969 — October 9, 2021

Laura Taylor

Laura Elaine Taylor joined her father, Dannie Seals, and Granny (her second mother) into her heavenly home on October 9, 2021 at the age of 52.  She was born September 1, 1969 in Houston, Texas to Dannie Ray and Edith Suzanne (Morgan) Seals.  Due to her father’s work, she attended several different schools over the years before graduating from a high school in New Jersey. Laura worked for Walmart, First Mexia Bank, and group homes, prior to completing her degree as a Registered Nurse. Then, she began her nursing career at Parkview Regional Hospital in the Labor/Delivery department followed by working in Dr. Russell and Dr. Stevens’ offices. She was presently employed by the Mexia State Supported Living Center as a hospital liaison.

Laura was truly a kind person who saw no flaws in people, and like her father, she was generous and full of laughter. Her smile and eyes would light up a room. Laura always brought so much joy to her parents. Everyone that knew her, loved her.

Laura married William Harold Taylor on June 17, 2000. Together, they raised their two children as well as opening their home to others that they considered their “bonus children”. She actively supported her son in his 4-H projects, and thoroughly enjoyed watching him show his animals. Laura also loved the beach, cruises, and just any body of water. Among her happy places were the Blue Hole in Wimberly, the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, and like to roam the grounds, looking at everything in Canton.

It was easy to see, by the way Laura lived her life, that her love for the Lord was strong; she was a faithful Christian. Laura was a longtime active member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church.

In the early years of life as their family, which consisted of Laura, her sister, Amanda, and their parents traveled from place to place, her father tried to reassure them that, together, they would always be the “total package”.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dannie Ray Seals; maternal grandparents, Wade and Geneva Morgan; paternal grandparents, Jim Everett and Jo Ella Seals; and father-in-law, Ron Taylor.

Laura is survived by her mother, Edith Seals of Groesbeck; husband, Bill Taylor of Groesbeck; children, Morgan Flannery of Orlando, FL, Will Taylor of Groesbeck, and bonus child, Leonard Porch of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Wesley McKeand and Penelope Flannery; sister, Amanda Gonzales of Groesbeck; mother-in-law, Ginger Taylor of Mexia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shara and Steve Hughes of Mexia; numerous other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Clifton Jones officiating.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
