Leo Dixon, 82 years of age, was born to Walker and Leola Dixon, on September 19, 1943 in Malone, Texas. He fell asleep in death, June 17, 2026 at his home in Mexia, Texas.
Leo attended school in Mexia, Texas where he graduated from Dunbar High School. He eventually went into the military. Later finding a true professional passion as a truck driver, driving 18-wheelers for over 30 years. His CB handle was "The Liontamer" and became the knick name he affectionately gave his youngest son, Leo Jr. He went on to work as a bus driver for Mexia ISD. He loved all his co-workers at the Bus Barn and the many children that rode his bus over the years. Lovingly calling them, "my kids".
Leo married Edna M. Dunagan, on February 20, 1970 and remained united in marriage for 50 years until her death, in 2020. He never stopped talking, thinking and waiting to be reunited with "Mama".
Leo was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, May 1980 in Arlington, Texas, alongside his wife. He especially loved sharing the good news about Jehovah's kingdom in the door-to-door ministry. He also enjoyed assisting his many bible students to learn and come to appreciate Jehovah and bible truths.
He preached tirelessly and fearlessly to all he met, not just family and friends, but those he worked with, neighbors and strangers.
Leo was truly one of the faithful of whom Jehovah has said, "For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name."
He leaves for a short time to mourn, his four children, Cassandra Smith, whom he affectionately called "Big Girl", James Dunagan (Jamie), Christine (Christy) Brown (Terrance) and Leo Dixon Jr (Liontamer) (Vicki). Seven grand children, Brandon Dunagan, Justin Dunagan, Kameron Brown, Kendrick Champlin, Korina Dixon, Austen Harris and Nikki Chandler. Three sisters, Ester Peoples, Delleran Dixon and Katie Burrell. Brother in law, Fred Haynes. A host of nieces, nephews and a spiritual family in the Mexia Congregation and worldwide brother hood of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna M. Dixon, parents, Walker and Leola Dixon, brother, John Dixon, Sister in laws, Hazel Haynes, Barbara Buchanan and Janie Dunagan, brother in law, Lozel Dunagan, mother and father in law, Houston and LV Dunagan and additional family and friends dearly loved.
A very special thanks, to Leo's oldest daughter, Cassandra, "Big Girl". You brought him "Home", that's what he wanted.
The family of Leo Dixon, would like to express many thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love and support that everyone has shown them, during this time of great loss. They are eternally grateful!
