Funeral services for Mr. Leo C. Stuver, 88 of Tehuacana will be 3 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 in First United Methodist Church in Tehuacana. Rev. Brad Brittian and Dr. Max Burkhead will officiate with interment to follow in Tehuacana Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia.. He is survived by his wife, Jeffalene Stuver of Tehuacana, son, Jeff Stuver and wife, Pam of Teague, Grandchildren: Kip Stuver and wife, Heather of Tehuacana, Kerry Stuver and wife, Kristy of Wortham and Jill Stuver of Waco; great grandchildren: Addison Stuver, , Reagan Stuver and Kenlie Stuver. Other survivors are several Cousins and a niece, Debbie Duffy of McDonough, Georgia. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Kipling Stuver. Education: Graduate of Mexia High School, 1936; Two years at Westminister College, Tehuacana, Football scholarship to Sam Houston State University, graduated in 1940 and Master's degree from Sam Houston State University, 1946. He was a member of the State Championship Mexia football team in 1935. Member of following organizations: Lions Club, Rotary International, Masons of Texas, Karem Shrine, Former Chairman of Board of directors of Great Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, Former General Chairman of the Greater Lewisville United Fund, TSTA, AASA, TASA. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mexia. Career: Dodge ISD, superintendent at the age of 22, 1940-1941 Bobville ISD at Dobbin, superintendent, 1942 Rusk ISD, principal 1943 Superior Oil , 1944-1946 Magnolia ISD, principal, 1946-1950 Angleton ISD, principal, 1950-1953 Teague ISD, superintendent, 1953-1966 Hillsboro ISD, superintendent, 1966-1969 Lewisville ISD, superintendent, 1969-1981 Honors: Honorary Life Membership, Texas Association of School Administrators 50 year lifetime member Masons of Texas Educator of the Month, Texas School Business Magazine Honored by Lewisville School District's naming a new 1500 seat auditorium Serving the district, the "Leo C. Stuver Auditorium" in 1978. Honored with a commendation by the State board of Education in recognition Of 41 years of distinguished service to Education upon retirement in 1981.
