Lesley Jo Kitchens May, 48, of Mexia, passed away December 30, 2015 in Temple, Texas. A Celebration of Lesley's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Chaplain Karen Hulsey officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Lesley was born in Groesbeck, Texas on September 17, 1967 to E. J. and Bonnie Jean Brown Kitchens. She grew up in Mexia and attend Mexia schools. She had been an instructor at the Mexia State Supported Living Center for a number of years. There was nothing Lesley enjoyed more than spending time with her family, especially, her grandchildren. While she loved all of her grandchildren, she was thrilled with having an opportunity to experience the joy of having grandsons; she raised four daughters. She enjoyed playing games, Candy Crush was her favorite. Lesley wasn't really an enthusiastic cook but she liked her kitchen tools/toys, thought it was fun using the blender, mixer, her new food processor and other gadgets. She was preceded in death by her father, E. J. Kitchens; maternal grandfather, Melvin Vest; and paternal grandmother, Ruby Lancaster. Lesley is survived by her loving daughters and grandchildren; Sara Carpenter and fiancé, Chris Sherrod, their son, Easton and Everett, who is expected to arrive in February, all of Mexia; Brittany McNutt and husband, Dan and children, Devin, Kaydence and another Baby McNutt, due to arrival in June, all of Copperas Cove; Christen Bridges and fiancé, Marvin Vera and sons, Marvin, Jr. "Booger" and Jaxson all of Mexia; and Hayley Bridges and fiancé, Taylor Kitchens and daughter, Maci all of Mexia; mother, Bonnie Kitchens of Riesel; sisters, Bobbie Hall of Wortham and Lisa Caldwell of Riesel; maternal grandmother, Lucille Vest of Groesbeck; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friend, JoAnn Eakins of Mexia.
