Linda L. Myers

Linda L. Dockery Myers passed away on June 13, 2022 at her home in Mexia.  Visitation with the family will be, prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Snow officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lost Prairie Cemetery.  Dennis Cook, Mickey Cook, Cecil George, Kenneth Dockery, David Pearson, Richard Sandifer, Brian George, and Paul Jay Sandifer will serve as pallbearers.

Linda was born March 7, 1941 in Groesbeck, Texas to Rube and Lorena (Lansford) Sandifer.  She married Ronald Dene Dockery, Sr. on July 7, 1956 in Groesbeck and they later made Mexia their home.  They were blessed with two sons, Ronald Dene, Jr. and Gary Allen.  Due to her love for children, Linda opened a Daycare in her home.  She kept her home was filled with numerous children for over 40 years.

Linda’s love for the Lord, family, friends, and all children was exemplified by the way she lived her life.  She enjoyed cooking, especially, baking sweets.  In her spare time, you would find her planting flowers in the yard, as well as in flowerpots; she loved her flowers.  Linda also loved her Diet Dr. Pepper and was rarely caught without one in her hand.  She was an active member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.

The many wonderful memories of Linda will be remembered by not only her family and friends, but the many children she kept through the years, and the impact she had on their lives.

She was preceded by her parents, Rube and Lorena Sandifer; husbands, Ronald Dockery, Sr. and Larry Myers; son, Gary Allen Dockery; and sisters, Pearl Parker, Nell Baker, and Icy Beldin.

Linda is survived by her loving son, Ronald Dene Dockery, Jr.; sisters, Mary Tubb, Minnie Ola Dockery, Loretta Cook, Anna Cook, Pamela Pearson, and Molly Elaine George; brothers, Cecil Sandifer and Jimmy Sandifer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
