Maria Martinez

Maria Luisa Martinez, 91, passed away May 9, 2014 in Mexia, Texas. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Pastor Frank Alvarado officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Maria was born September 25, 1922 in Puebla, Mexico to Felix and Isabel Juarez Martinez. She loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. A loving mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed. Maria was a member of the First Spanish Assembly of God in Waco, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Agapito Velasquez on February 10, 2005. Maria is survived by three children, Isabel Olvera of Mexia, Othon Velazquez and Remedios Velasquez of Mexico City; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Ruben Ayvar, Jr., Ruben N. Ayvar, Hector Olvera, Gabriel Olvera, Luis Velzaquez, Jorge Gardunio and Gerson Vazquez.
