Martha Rudder

Mrs. Martha Jo (McClung) Rudder, 83 of Mexia passed away Wednesday August 23, 2006 in Mexia. Mrs. Rudder was born August 5, 1923 in Italy, Texas, to Clifford Cross (C.C.) and Agnes Bowers McClung. Mrs. Rudder was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexia for over 56 years. She loved her family and her church family. Another great love of hers was that of flowers, trees and the great outdoors. She was able to put her talent in gardening and landscaping to good use at the Mexia State School where she worked for 25 years beautifying the campus for all to enjoy. Mrs. Rudder was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marshall Desmond Rudder in 1966 and by her son, Jan Rudder in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Renell Perrotti of Mexia, Her grandson , Louis Marshall Perrotti of Mexia and by her sister, Julia Lee Turner of Buena Vista, Colorado. Funeral services for Mrs. Rudder will be Saturday morning at 10 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mexia. Reverend Ken Lane and Reverend Tom Prentiss will officiate, and the interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 at Blair-Stubbs funeral home.
