Mary Lynn Smith

Mary Lynn Smith of Abilene, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Bob and Hazel (Dardeau) Smith. She was born on December 14, 1950, in Orange, Texas.

Mary Lynn, a child of God was lovingly taken care of by her parents and her grandparents, Jack and Estelle Dardeau until she moved to the Mexia State School in Mexia, Texas when she was about ten years of age, and resided at the facility until approximately six years ago, when she moved the Abilene State Supported Living Center. Mary Lynn preserved despite the many challenges that came her way.

She enjoyed music and one of her favorite songs was “Honeycomb” by Jimmy Rodgers. She would repeatedly ask for the song to be played again.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Jack and Estelle Dardeau and Grandmother Emma Brown, as well as three siblings Janice Adams, Bobby Smith and Gary Smith. Survived by her youngest brother Dicky Smith and wife Leta, ten nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews and will be so missed by her family.

Mary Lynn is now fully restored and able to rejoice with her parents, grandparents and siblings in heaven.

Graveside services to be held on June 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
