Michael Danz

Michael Lynn Danz, of Thornton, passed away November 18, 2018 in Temple at the age of 64. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Groesbeck Fire Department Color Guards.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Michael was born December 14, 1953 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Werner William and Rosa E. James Danz. He graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1972. He retired from US Silica.

Michael was a volunteer of the Thornton Fire Department, a member of the Jewett Masonic Lodge and member of the Common Ground Cowboy Church in Kosse. Whenever possible, he enjoyed going fishing and making woodwork creations.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gordon Danz.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lois Danz of Thornton; children, Michael William Danz and Christina Ray of Groesbeck, Sheri Renee Horn and husband, Jason Michael Horn of Groesbeck; step-sons, Robert Tyler and wife, Christi of Corpus Christi and Archie Tyler and wife, Lizzie of Rockport; adopted son, Kelly Cox and wife, Jen; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Danz and wife, Janie of West Columbia and Bobby Cox of Thornton.
