Michael “Mike” Alvie Roark passed away on April 10, 2025, at his home in Groesbeck, Texas, at the age of 77. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. for the family on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the Old Bethel Cemetery, with Reverend Ben Huebner officiating and grandson Brendan Roark also participating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Bethel Cemetery or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Mike was born on September 6, 1947, in Groesbeck (Kickapoo), Texas, to Alvie Lee and Mattie Beatrice (Prichard) Roark. He was a graduate of Mexia High School, Class of 1965. Mike was awarded several medals while serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the State of Texas and the Department of Veterans Affairs as an HVAC technician.
There was nothing more important to Mike than spending time with his family. His love for his children was strong, but as grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, his love grew even stronger with each generation. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to him.
In his leisure time, Mike enjoyed fishing, entertaining friends with fish fries, camping, and traveling. He particularly enjoyed spending cool summers in Colorado.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Beatrice Roark, and his brother, Gerald Roark. He is survived by Jackie Anderson; his brother, Stanley (Kay) Roark; his children, Wesley (Kristi) Roark, Mark (Leigh) Roark, and Sissie Roark; his grandchildren, Lacy (Ryan) Evans, Tabbie (Dylan) Miller, Chase Meador, Aidan Roark, Brendan (Haley) Roark, Justin Roark, and Ashley Roark; and his great-grandchild, William Roark. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Randy Anderson, Rusty (Candice) Anderson, Shannon Anderson (Ricky) Boatright, James (Kristi) Webb, and Kinney Webb; step grandchildren, Aaron Anderson, Austin (Ashley) Anderson, Stephen (Chazlee) Boatright, Aly Boatright Brown, Chloe Boatright, Josi Anderson, Khloe Avaler, Hailey Fisher, J. D. Anderson, Cole Anderson, Randi Jo Anderson, Jolenne Webb, Wyatt Webb, De Anthony Page, Elijah Page, Karmen Avaler, Eli Webb, and Cooper Webb; and step great-grandchildren, Henry Anderson, Danny Anderson, Easton, Anderson, and Blakelee Boatright.
