Michael Schuster

Michael Frank Schuster passed away on September 9, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Justin Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow in the Point Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Mike was born on May 29, 1929 in Mexia, TX. Before graduating in1948, he played football on the Mexia High School district championship team. He married Carol Lea Shaw on December 18, 1952. He received his Bachelor and Masters of Science from Texas A&M College and his PhD from Mississippi State University in the field of Entomology. Mike was a world class research scientist and conducted research in crop protection with both Mississippi State and Texas A&M AgriLife Research. Following retirement, he resettled to Mexia, TX and continued to be active in Agricultural community. Mike is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carol, and his parents, Michael and Anna Schuster. He is survived by two brothers, Edmond and Joe; two sisters, Helen Matthews and Mary Anna Minchew; seven children, Michael Glenn, Karla Kay, Anthony Lawrence, Emmett Carl, Greta Lucille, Sharon Ann, and Christopher Owen; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Stephen Minchew, Stephen Huff, Eric Schuster, Warren Matthews, Mike Matthews and Clint Thomas.
