Miguel Fuentes, II

Mr. Miguel Fuentes, II passed away on September 29, 2026, in Groesbeck, Texas at the age of 68. He was born in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico on August 2, 1958.

Miguel was married to Maria “Mercy” (Mercedes) Fuentes for 41 years until her passing in December 2022. Miguel loved sports- he grew up playing soccer, and volleyball as well as participating in boxing. He became a soccer coach for his nieces and nephews as well as many others in the community and he never missed practice. He thoroughly enjoyed supporting the Dallas Cowboys, as he was a die-hard fan. Another love was for his family, especially his grandchildren, as he enjoyed spending time and making memories with them.

He attended Nueva Vida Church where he was a leader within the congregation. Miguel was a very hard worker for JC Hardison as a Ranch hand, so he could help provide for his family.

Miguel is preceded in death by wife, Mercy; his birth mother, Ana Marie Zamora Aguilar, who passed away at his birth; and Mother who raised him, Lupe Bonilla.  He is survived by sons, Miguel Fuentes, III, Roberto Fuentes and wife, Alicia all of Mexia; grandchildren, Anna, Miguel, IV, Alyssa, Elsa, Rihanna, Kaylee, Kalynn, Natalie, Nevaeh Fuentes; siblings Armando Fuentes, Ramiro Fuentes, Jesse Lopez, Guadalupe Candanoza, Laura Fuentes Almaza, Sonya Munoz and Virginia Lopez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing is planned for Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m.-7 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, Texas. The Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Mario Rivera officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia City Cemetery. Granddaughters will be serving as pallbearers.
