Mildred Radke, 90, passed away October 15, 2006. She was born October 11, 1916 in Donie, Texas. Mildred attended Hill County Jr. College and earned a B.S. degree in education from Sam Houston State Teacher's College in 1939. While attending college at S.H.S.T.C., she was featured singer with the college dance band, eventually being featured as a vocalist on WFAA radio station in Dallas, Texas. In 1940 Mildred married her elementary school sweetheart, Nolan Radke. Together they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Mildred, affectionately known by her family as Mimi, is survived by a son, Ken Radke of Palm Springs, California; a daughter, Nola (Stanley) Pfeil of Portland, TX; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in the Mexia Cemetery in Mexia, TX. Visitation with the family will be after 5 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
