Miriam Pauline Cantrell Hall, 96, went on to her great reward on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Miriam passed away peacefully, in the presence of her loving family in Mexia, Texas. Miriam was born at home in Haskell, TX on October 16th, 1928, to Herman and Gladys Cantrell.
She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Albert Hall, whom she married on January 20, 1949, in Pasadena, TX. She is also preceded by her parents, and by her younger brother Jimmy Cantrell. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Wilson and Patricia Demaret; her daughters Betty Whelan (Gary) and Nancy Jendel (Jerry); her grandchildren John Whelan (Katie) and their children Ramona, Luke and Sarah, Jordan Trantham (Bradley), and Coleman Jendel (Morgan).
Born at the start of the great depression, Miriam moved around a lot as a child, due to her Father’s job as a pipefitter. Later in life, Miriam primarily stayed at home and was a Mother and homemaker, but occasionally worked part time, something she enjoyed. Miriam also, alongside her husband, built three homes, and accumulated many skills due to her industrious, hardworking approach to life.
Miriam leaves behind a legacy of obedience to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a generous and kind woman, an artist who loved to draw and to paint, and who had a keen and perceptive eye for beauty. She was a fantastic cook, never needing a recipe. She loved music, particularly church music, and she loved to read.
She will be remembered by many with the greatest fondness, admiration and love for her gentle, faithful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to Cherokee Home For Children at www.chc4kids.org.
