Nellie Churchill

Nellie Modene Churchill passed away June 15, 2018 in Frisco, Texas at the age of 91. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Oakes Cemetery with Pastor William Ballou officiating. Nellie was born June 8, 1927 in Donie, Texas to Verner Lee and Essie Irene Turner Martin. She received her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas in May 1949 and her Master of Education from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas in August 1978. She was a retired school teacher. Nellie married the love of her life, George Winston Churchill on May 28, 1950; prior to his death on April 16, 2015, they celebrated almost 65 years together. They were blessed with two sons, Dale and Gary. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the light of her life. Nellie was also a dedicated educator. She was preceded in death by his parents; and loving husband, Winston Churchill. Nellie is survived by her loving sons, Dale Churchill and wife, Debbie and Gary Churchill and wife, Gina;10 grandchildren, Chris Cortney, Devon,Chad, Amy, Robert, Jennifer, Joanna, Patrick and Rachel; and 12 great grandchildren, Will, Luke, Brighton, Ryder, Braven, Jax, Scarlett, Hannah, Adalyn, Benjamin, Gracie and Emma.
