Norma Budai

Norma Lee Holt Budai, 91, of Tehuacana, passed away March 6, 2016 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Deacon Lewis Palos officiating. Interment will be in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat (near Corsicana). Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Norma was born in her family home in Ennis, Texas on October 1, 1924 to Grover Cleveland Holt and Annie Lee Jones. On July 4, 1946, Norma married her loving husband, Dan Louis Budai, Jr. They were blessed with two children, Janis and Bobby. In addition to taking care of her family, she dedicated many years of service to the Texas Miller Hat Factory in Corsicana, Texas before retiring. Norma will be remembered for her good cooking, especially "Polinchintas", pecan rolls, divinity and stuffed cabbage. She will also be remembered for her loving personality and generosity to her family. She enjoyed life and her family. Norma loved playing 42 dominoes with her family and decorating her home for Christmas. She was, affectionately, known as "Mema" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so loved by everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Budai, Jr.; son, Robert "Bobby" Budai; and 10 siblings. Norma is survived by her daughter, Janis Johnson and husband, Richard of Tehuacana; four grandchildren, Jamie Gragg and husband, Mike of Tehuacana, Russell Budai and wife, Stephanie of Dripping Springs, Stephanie Meyer and husband, Randy of Waco and Jennifer Evans and husband, Blake of College Station; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Meyer, Bradley Gragg, David Meyer, Madison Gragg, Beckett Budai, Hannah Meyer and Sarah Meyer. Pallbearers will be Russell Budai, Mike Gragg, Randy Meyer, Blake Evans, Mike McCary and Jay Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Moan Canales and Joe Payne.
